Help Cecelia Powers Power Through Brain Surgery

Donation protected
Hi everyone,

The woman above is my beautiful mother, and I almost lost her without any warning. Just a few days after our weekly workout sessions, I found my mother in bed, unable to move or speak. "Hey mom, are you okay?" She looked at me with a facial expression I had never seen before. She tried to speak, but spit filled her mouth. "Let's go to the bathroom, mom." She attempted to get out of bed, but I noticed she was struggling to move. I asked, "Do you need help, Mom?" She looked at me again with that same expression, extending her left hand. At this point, I knew something was wrong, but I didn't grasp the magnitude of the situation. I guided her to the bathroom, where she struggled, and I sat her on the toilet. As she tried to explain what was wrong, it seemed like she was forgetting the rest of her sentence as she spoke.

Later that night, I took her to the hospital, and we discovered she had a tumor the size of a baseball, occupying almost the entire left side of her brain, explaining why her entire right side wasn't functioning. Shortly after, we were informed that she needed immediate surgery. After reviewing CT scans, MRI's, and monitoring the tumor's condition with steroids to prevent further growth, we, along with the doctors, decided to transfer her to another hospital with a better neurosurgeon in our state.

After five days, she was stable enough for me to drive her to the second hospital immediately after being discharged. Once we arrived, we had to repeat the whole process, including more CT scans and MRI scans, before she could begin the surgical process. Thankfully, the next day (day 7), she underwent surgery to remove the brain tumor.

Fortunately, we were blessed that 100% of the tumor was fully removed. Now, we're awaiting the results to determine if the mass was benign or not.

Sharing my mom's story so transparently isn't easy. From my research, I've realized the significant expenses involved, especially since we had to stay at two different hospitals to ensure the best care for my mom. I'm reaching out to ask for your help in supporting my mother's recovery and covering medical expenses. All funds will go towards her future rehab, CT scans, MRI's, home care, and any other unexpected costs related to her health.

Thank you so much in advance for the love, support, and all your donations for my mother. Our family greatly appreciates it. We'll be using this site, along with social media, to share updates on her progress and recovery. Once again, our family deeply appreciates your generosity.
