Help Save Cecilia: A Mother’s 4-Year Fight Against Cancer
Donation protected
My name is Otim, and I’m reaching out because my wife, Cecilia, is bravely battling colon cancer, and we urgently need your support to save her life. We are a young couple from Uganda, raising four beautiful children, including 5-year-old triplets. At just 35, Cecilia has dedicated her life as a social worker, bringing clean water to underserved communities across Uganda. I have devoted my work to helping unbanked women across Africa access financial services, transforming the lives of over 500,000 people.
Our lives changed forever in 2021 when Cecilia was first diagnosed with colon cancer. Since then, she has undergone multiple surgeries and two rounds of chemotherapy. Despite her incredible strength and being declared cancer-free twice, a recent recurrence has caused her health to deteriorate rapidly. We are now seeking to start her on advanced, experimental treatments to increase her chances of survival, but these treatments are incredibly costly.
After four years of fighting this disease, we have held onto hope, but the emotional and financial toll has been overwhelming. We’ve exhausted our life savings to cover her medical expenses, yet the battle is far from over. Our children need their mother, and I long to see our family whole again. Cecilia deserves the chance to continue raising our children, to return to the work she loves, and to reclaim the future that cancer is trying to take from her.
Now, we’re asking for your help. We urgently need financial support to continue Cecilia’s treatment. Any contribution—no matter how small—will bring us closer to securing the life-saving care she so desperately needs.
From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for your generosity, support, and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.
