Help Celbridge CFR respond to medical emergencies in 2024

Celbridge Community First Responders are a group of trained, certified, and vetted local volunteers who respond to medical emergencies, related to the heart, in the Celbridge and Ardclough area.

Our response means that we arrive at the patient to start treatment while the ambulance is on the way. In the case of cardiac arrest, these extra minutes can make all the difference when it comes to increasing someone's chances of survival.

To respond to such calls, we need to pay for equipment, PPE, insurance and a variety of other operational expenses. Whilst we are affiliated with The National Ambulance Service (part of the HSE), we are not funded by them. We get some grant funding from Kildare County Council, but that doesn't help with our ongoing operational costs. For that we look to the community for support.

Each call we attend costs between €15 and €150 depending on the nature of the call. We can not stress how far the smallest of donations can go. For example a box of gloves costs €3. If we use a defibrillator, a replacement set of pads costs €80.

Every single donation received goes to those kinds of costs, and frees up our volunteer responders from fund-raising like packing bags for a few hours at a supermarket. No matter how little or large, if you give what you can give, it goes directly to a vital community service.

Celbridge CFR is a registered charity (RCN 20204464). All our members and responders are volunteers with no salaries or expenses paid to anyone. We are all locals giving our time and energy to this local service.

Thank you for reading and considering a donation. If you have any questions about what we do, or would like to get involved, please visit our website https://celbridgecfr.ie/.
