My name is Jayne, and I am a family friend of Matthew Menne. My family met Matt and his family back in 2016. Ever since, our children have been the best of friends! "Uncle" Matt always made sure that the kids had so much fun, whether it was creating a fort and running around wild with them, blasting music and having a dance party, or relaxing while playing video games or building Legos. To having back yard picnics and playing fetch with the dogs.

Matthew was born January 17, 1985. Following high school, Matt joined the Minnesota National Guard. He proudly served with the 34th Red Bull Infantry Division. Spending 21 months in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was honorably discharged from service in 2011.

In recent years, Matthew was a turkey farm manager for Jenny-O (7 years). He enjoyed his job very much. (Swanville, Minnesota)

Matthew met Hailey in 2012. She had two young boys from a previous relationship (Lyrik and Thunder 12). He also had a daughter from a previous marriage (Lillianna 13). Matthew and Hailey continued to have three children together (Remedy 10, Harmony 8 & Ezekiel 6). After their separation, Hailey had another son (Waylon 3). Matt loved all the children as his own.

Matthew & Baby Way quickly became best buds. Thunder, Rem, Harm & Zeke stayed with Matthew often while co parenting & remaining friends with Hailey.

September 7, 2024 Matthew was in a tragic car accident, claiming his life.

Hailey has received many messages with questions about what the children may need since the loss of their father. Although Matthew did have life insurance, there will be a few months wait before any Veteran or survivor benefits begin. There is a bank account set up for Matthew and Hailey’s children (Thunder, Remedy, Harmony & Ezekiel) at 1st state bank in Swanville, Minnesota. The account is under Hailey Heckes for care of their minor children.

At this time, any donations will go towards the every day care of the children, storage & cleaning fees of Matthew’s house and a small memorial service in Swanville.
