Help Chad Breathe Easier

Hi! My name is Kelsey Maupin-Bell and I'm fundraising for my Father, Chad Maupin (a.k.a. Big Bot) who has been diagnosed with NSIP (Non-Specific Interstitial Pneumonia). NSIP is chronic interstitial pneumonia with the homogeneous appearance of interstitial fibrosis and inflammation. You can learn about NSIP HERE .

Dad noticed symptoms throughout 2022 and by the Holidays was extremely ill. For months he visitied with specialists and tried to find out what was wrong. He finally received a diagnosis in March of 2023 and is receiving treatment. While we're thankful he has answers and can get treatment, he hasn't been able to work much and has a long road to recovery ahead.

In June, my parents will be going to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. They'll spend a week with more specialists who primarly focus on this type of lung disease. We're very excited about having access to specialists in this disease but need your help to get him there!

IMMEDIATE NEEDS:

•Travel Expenses for a week at the clinic: $1,500

•Portable Oxygen Concentrator: $3,000 (this allows dad the freedom to get out and about)

LONG-TERM NEEDS:

•Medical Expenses (bills are piling up)

•Long-term loss of income (Dad is trying to work as he can but is severely limited in what he can do)

With these unexpected hardships, my parents aren't quite sure what's to come with my father's health or career. This mystery disease is different for everyone, so we won't know what his new "normal" will be for sometime.

My immediate goal is to provide a portable oxygen concentrator for dad and to cover their expenses as they travel to the Mayo Clinic. Long-term, I'd love to help them with the unexpected medical bills, as well as their dramatic loss of income. As you can imagine, this is a stressful time for my family and any help you can provide is greatly appreciated!
