Help Champ Heal: Support His Eye Surgery
Tax deductible
Champ is 5 years old, and 100 pounds of golden love!
This handsome boy was diagnosed in May 2024 with sudden onset blindness due to Glaucoma. His original owner surrendered him to GRRoM in June 2024 due to financial hardship and not being able to provide the care needed to support Champ.
Due to his level of pain, Champ was scheduled for ocular removal surgery. But then, one of our amazing volunteers connected us with a veterinarian who could save Champ’s eyes! In August 2024, Champ went through ocular evisceration, which is when the contents of the painful eyes are removed, leaving the scleral shell with a custom eye filling the space.
All in, this procedure cost GRRoM $3,300, which was $1,000 less than the ocular removal surgery AND Champ was able to keep his eyes! Even though his eye sight would never be able to be recovered due to the glaucoma, we were so happy to not only get this boy out of pain but preserve his facial structure, which will be incredibly helpful when he is ready for adoption!
Champ’s medical expenses are large, but he is worth every penny! We humbly ask our generous donors to consider helping to support Champ’s road to healing!
