Help Charla on her cancer journey

Hi, my name is Charla and in July of 2021 I was diagnosed with stage 3 Endometrial cancer. This is my second bout with this cancer, the first go-round was in 2017. This round requires much more extensive and involved treatments. Surgeries have taken place, daily radiation for 5 weeks has been completed, and now I am in the middle of chemotherapy infusions. The most difficult thing, besides the actual illness, are the financial stresses this is putting on my husband Travis and me. While I am still working, it is very part-time, and my disability benefits have not yet started. Going from two full time incomes to one has been difficult. We have been tremendously blessed by our family, church and friends through their generosity over the past 6 months, they have sustained us. But we are still in need, still could use help meeting our financial obligations, household bills and we must start paying the accrued medical bills.

Once again, friends are stepping up to help us in our time of need by putting together a Barbacoa fundraising dinner. I know not everyone is able to drive to El Centro, California and pick up a dinner plate so this fund is being set up for those who still want to help out, but maybe live in part of the state or country. We understand that this is a lot to ask of our community and friends, but my husband and I want everyone to know that we appreciate your support, generosity and prayers. There really aren't enough ways to express our appreciation.
