Help Charlan Overcome Her Health Challenges

Dear Friends, Family, and Supporters,

I am reaching out to share a heartfelt story and to kindly ask for your support for a cherished member of our family, my mother, Charlan. In 2014, amidst residing in Oklahoma, Charlan received a diagnosis of thyroid cancer. After extensive consultations, her family encouraged her to relocate to Kansas City for treatment. However, just before her scheduled surgery, a startling revelation emerged – Charlan was also battling leukemia.

Charlan has been courageously fighting this disease with unwavering strength and determination. Has continued to work, keeps a smile on her face and complains minimally about the pain she is enduring. She now is facing a surgery to have a lesion removed from her hip after a biopsy was just too questionable regarding whether or not it was yet another form of cancer. However, as she is preparing for surgery, she is faced with not only the physical and emotional toll of treatment but also the financial burden that comes with being unable to work for an extended period.

During their recovery period, my mom will be unable to work for several weeks and short term disability will not pay out for a couple of weeks, which means she will struggle to cover basic living expenses such as rent, utilities, groceries, and medical bills.

We have set up this GoFundMe campaign to rally support for Charlan and alleviate some of the financial stress they are facing. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant impact and help ensure that Charlan can focus on their health and recovery without the added worry of financial strain.
