Help Charlene Rebuild After an Apartment Fire
Donation protected
Please consider helping our dear friend Charlene who lost her apartment and most of her belongings in a fire last week. Thankfully, Charlene and her dog Maui are okay, but she now has to start the process of finding a new place to live, salvaging what she can and replacing everything she can’t. This is going to be a very long and financially hard road for her. She will be so appreciative of any help you can provide.
On the morning of Tuesday, February 2nd Charlene was simply making herself breakfast before a full day of work meetings. She smelled smoke and turned to see thick black smoke coming from the built-in microwave. She quickly got a fire extinguisher and tried to put out the fire, but because the microwave was installed within the cabinets, she couldn’t reach the source of the flames. She immediately called 911, grabbed her dog and a few belongings, and headed outside. By the time she got down to the street, the fire trucks were there. They used a ladder to access her 5th floor apartment through a window and proceeded to douse the entire apartment with a fire hose. Nearly everything she owns was destroyed by smoke, black soot, and water.
Those of you that know Charlene know how generous and thoughtful she is. She is always there to help a friend and has chosen a career of fundraising for nonprofit organizations that are near and dear to her heart. Please join us in rallying around Charlene as she begins to rebuild her life. In addition to financial donations, messages of support (and lots of hugs) will help too.
