Today is my birthday (March 1st) and my gift to myself is the reclamation of my power with my truth.

It’s taken 2 years to find my strength but I am acknowledging the hardships and setbacks I’ve faced since 2019, mostly due to my previous employer, Mireille Loughlin  of Arushi Couture .

I would like to take this time to announce my GoFundMe campaign to finally help launch my own fashion label!

I receive endless messages and comments filled with love and support mostly asking about the availability of my designs.

Creating a brand and quality product involves a lot of investment so I am taking this opportunity now to ask for help in crowdfunding to give life to my dream - a brand of my own.

I am truly blessed to have such a supportive audience who believes so intensely in me and want my designs to be available for purchase. For all those who have followed me on my journey, with a humble heart, I am reaching out. With the support and generosity of my family, I was able to plant the seed of my brand but I need help to make it grow.

If you believe in my work, my brand, then please listen to my truth and show support by also sharing this GoFundMe to others.

In February 2019, just months before my participation on 'Next In Fashion’, I was fired from my position as creative director, of Arushi Couture in Dubai due to reasons beyond my control. The managing director of Arushi Couture, Mireille Loughlin, illegally withheld 4 months worth of salary and due funds.

After a year of litigation and filing a lawsuit with the company (which sided with me), the amount owed to me by Mireille Loughlin totalled 219, 095 Dhs. This, in combination with all of my financials and my lawyer’s fees (24,000 Dhs) left me out of pocket by 100,000 Canadian dollars.

I have yet to receive any money.

By April 2019, I left for Los Angelos to film, Next in Fashion . I was broke. Upon return, I stayed in Dubai as long as I possibly could and used all of my savings to stay afloat, but ultimately left Dubai by summer with nothing to my name. After returning to Canada, Mireille fled the country, to my knowledge, back to France cutting all forms of communication with and has since done this to numerous other fellow employees. The last of my designs were then sold off to stores and I was left with watching on the sidelines as I was erased from the brand. (This very thing had happened to me with Veni Vici Couture in London in my earlier years.)

I carry all legal documentation to support my statements.

I have made peace with myself but I firmly believe that people and their brands must to be held accountable for their unjust and insidious actions. Mireille Loughlin of Arushi Couture has relied on my silence and fear to carry on without taking accountability.

I am not afraid and I shall not remain quiet.

Ethics and morals do not exist in the realm of Arushi Couture nor its creator.

My participation in “Next In Fashion” was my saving grace however, after the show aired, the effects of Covid-19 prevented me from nurturing any opportunity. All hopes of partnerships, collaboration, and financial support were halted and slowly diminished.

These events greatly affected my mental well-being and I slipped back into a heavy depressive state riddled with numbing anxiety. I carried the weight of my sadness daily and sought professional help.

I have since found power in my own creativity and have been producing my best work in hopes of releasing a collection by the end of the year! This past year, though difficult, was the most important year of my life. I have grown, killed the self-hating and doubtful versions of myself, and have found beauty in my journey.

A year of self-isolation has allowed me to gain clarity in what I want in my life, my own label.

I had to lose everything in order to understand what I needed most in my life; a brand so unapologetically me and representative of my beliefs in fashion.

If I have been unresponsive or hesitant to post - you now understand why.

Thank you for all the kind messages, comments, and likes on my social media. I have been so busy overcoming my darkness and working on my designs (all designed, sewn, and produced by my own hands - at current, a one man brand) that I have little time to reply but feel the endless love you all provide.

All proceeds from my GoFundMe will go directly into my brand in order to deliver a product filled with love and thoughtfulness.  My collection is due later this year so any funds received as quickly as possible would be greatly appreciated!

below is a sample of what I am working on.

Please like and share, it would mean so much to me!

Thank you! And much love.
