Help Charlie Beat Cancer Again
Donation protected
Hi everyone! I’m creating this on behalf of the Stenson family as they continue their daughter Charlie’s battle with cancer.
Charlie was declared cancer free back in January of this year and the whole family was so ecstatic. She was able to be a kid again and enjoy so many of the things that she hadn’t been able to do over her year long battle with cancer. Since then, Charlie has been getting scans every 3 months to confirm that there is still “no evidence of disease”. Last week, she had her scans and they unfortunately came back with two spots in her lungs. They weren’t sure if they were for sure cancer, but we knew her fight wasn’t over. On Thursday August 22nd, Charlie had surgery on her lungs to remove the spots that came back in her scan. Upon testing them, they came back cancerous and we were told Charlie would need more chemo. She starts treatment again on September 3rd and the plan is to do 3 rounds of chemo to hopefully kill whatever cancer is left inside of her.
Charlie is strong and we know she can and will fight this, but she shouldn’t have to. Just 1 day before she starts chemo again, she turns 5. 5 is far too young to have to deal with any of this. Charlie is a warrior and is ready to kick cancers butt again!
I am starting this go fund me to help the Stenson family as they begin their fight again with cancer. The money raised would be used to help pay their medical balance at Seattle Children’s, provide experiences for Charlie as she navigates this difficult time, and any other needs that may come up for their family as they are separated.
Thank you for supporting our family during this time, we appreciate it more than you will ever know. A quote from Charlie’s favorite Disney character, Marie from the Aristocats, “Ladies do not start fights, but they can finish them”. Charlie will finish this fight!
