Help Charlie Enjoy His Wonder Years
Donation protected
Charlie was found in the pouring rain in the countryside 2 weeks ago, by an angel who spends much of her spare time volunteering at local animal shelters, fosters and finding forever homes for fur babies. Charlie's angel took him to get checked out, clearly seeing that he wasn't in the best shape from being outside a rather long time. This old man had a double ear infection, trauma to his left ear, and a mass on his foot that needed removing. Charlie's angel immediately called his owners when she found that he was chipped, but they surrendered him to her care, admitting they did not have the capacity to give him the attention he needs.
After settling in his foster momma's home, showing his affectionate personality and the fact that all he wanted was loving attention, he started medication and began to feel at home. Later that same week his foster momma had to undergo emergency surgery. Upon her return home, Nurse Charlie wouldn't leave her side, comforting her and being the absolute best house guest anyone could ask for.
Fast forward one week when Charlie and his angel were continuing to rescue and support one another, it was Charlie's turn to need emergency surgery for the sudden onset of GVD, otherwise known as stomach bloat. Offered with the choice of footing an expensive bill for surgery that Charlie might not have been strong enough to make it through, or putting him to sleep, Charlie's angel, of course, voted to get him into surgery and give him the chance he deserved.
Charlie made it through surgery and is now resting up at his official "fur-ever" home with his saving grace. This go fund me aims to support Charlie's significant vet bills and recovery, giving him the best care and opportunities to live out his golden years in a happy, healthy and loving home with a new momma who has spent so much of her time caring for others. Unlike all of those other foster dogs that she chose to help, Charlie chose HER and we are very much wishing him a speedy recovery and happily ever after!
