Help The Heffernan Family Rebuild After Hurricane

I am creating this GoFundMe on behalf of Chavonne Heffernan and her beautiful family who lost their home in Nokomis, FL due to Hurricane Milton. Chavonne has helped us providing child care for our family for a few years and my children adore her. We are so sad for her and her family. Raising this money will help them rent a place while they are awaiting insurance money to begin to rebuild their home.

A Letter from Chavonne:

Dear Friends,

My husband is not the type of man who is good at asking for or accepting help. In fact he would be very angry if he knew about this letter.

Brian is a father to 5 daughters , he has Nora (8) and Charlotte (13) and myself living under his roof currently. He spends his time trying to keep us all happy.

Hurricane Milton completely wiped out our home and everything in it.

My husband has spent his careers in both Law Enforcement (NYPD 94-99)and Firefighting (FDNY 1999-2011) in service of other people.

When with the FDNY Brian responded to THE WORLD TRADE CENTER and spent 2 months digging at ground zero.

He has DVT’s , blood clots, breathing issues and PTSD.

He is still dealing with a lot of the physical and mental traumas that many of first responders have. This hurricane has really thrown him for a loop.

In his lifetime he has volunteered for countless charities like HOMES FOR HEROES, YMCA SOCCER COACH, has ran soccer clinics for local church.

He was SANTA CLAUS for many years for a domestic violence charity giving out toys in the Housing Projects of South Queens. (GARAGE SALES AGAINST VIOLENCE)

Since he has moved to Florida he donates his time to help the old and mentally disabled with disability paperwork. He drives some of them to their doctor’s appointments. Drives kids home from school whose parents can’t. In addition to the soccer clinics and coaching at the YMCA.

Sorry for the long listing of what Brian does for others, just wanted you to know the person he is and that he always helps others. Never says no to any neighbor asking for help at any time of day.

He would never ask for any help so I’m asking for him.
