Help Chay and his family !

My name is Maddie Brown and I am happy to be an advocate for anyone who needs it. A big cause for me is pediatrics and children’s cancer.

On my birthday, right at midnight, a close friend of mine called me crying. Her sons MRI had come back and showed a huge brain tumour. With his parents and

brother overwhelmed and anxious, 11 year old Chay was booked in for surgery asap and underwent a 12+ hour long surgery to remove every part of the tumour possible .

We are at the gruelling stage of waiting for biopsy results to come back from Toronto. The tumour could be benign- it could be cancer. Either way, his continued recovery, rehabilitation, medication and therapies will be costly.

Chay comes from an indigenous family, and has a parent who identifies as transgender. They are both struggling to maintain a work schedule that allows them to get their son Raynee to school, look after Chay at home in his new wheelchair, and still earn an income. We are hoping to raise some extra money so they are able to spend the time with Chay he needs to recover.

Right now, we are hoping against hope that this tumour is benign and that my handsome buddy will not have to enter the oncology system, EVER.
