Help Chef Poe Heal and Return to Teaching
Donation protected
Dear Family, Friends and Community
Our amazing sister, Kriston Poe (Chef Poe) has recently undergone emergent surgery and then was given the tough news of Cancer. She and the Poe family have a tough road ahead of them that will include healing from surgery and with what we know now, chemotherapy.
Kriston is an amazing wife, mother, daughter, sister and also teacher at Liberty High School. Most people in the school district know her as Chef Poe. She has taught and mentored so many kids and touched many lives with her love of cooking and teaching.
These next few months will be challenging for her to step off that “teacher” podium and take care of herself. Not an easy task for her if you know her. Liberty High is working hard to cover her classes and CCAP competition but things just won’t be the same without Chef Poe there.
The goal of setting up this fund is to help with medical expenses, cover wages and help the family with monthly bills until she can get back on her feet and back in the kitchen with her students. Any size donation would go directly to these expenses and would be greatly appreciated by the Poe family.
We will update Kriston’s progress as she moves through each step of healing and treatment.
Thank you in advance for any support that is given and if you are unable to donate that is okay. Could we ask that you share this gofundme with the community. Hopefully be able to reach all of those that know and love our sister.
UPDATE:
Kriston is home and resting comfortably. Her spirits are high and she is so happy to be back with Dane and the kids. Kriston has an appointment with her doctor on the 18th and will start treatment on the 25th.
Our family would like to send a big thank you to everyone for the donations, messages, love and prayers for Kriston. She and the family are beyond grateful to you all!!
If you didn’t see it or hear about it, abc15news reached out to do a story about Kriston’s story. They came out to the Homecoming game at Liberty and interviewed a few students. The story aired on Friday night at 10pm. The story can be found the abc15 online.
