Help Chef Sharrod RISE like Dough: A Comeback in the Making

If you have had the pleasure and delight to be in the presence of Sharrod, then you know the magnetic force he is! Sharrod has been delighting us with his incredible talent, witty sass, stylish persona and crafting pastries from Texas to Washington DC and around to Atlanta, feeding folks such as Presidents, First Ladies, and studio executives. In 2023, the world witnessed his abilities on Max HBO on the Holiday Baking Championship where he was in the TOP FIVE finalist. He was on roll!

Until March 21, 2024, life took an unexpected and very scary turn for Sharrod, when he experienced a life-threatening seizure and coded twice. Spending almost 3 weeks in a medical induced coma, Sharrod fought infections, kidney failure, traumatic brain injury, and a few other medical conditions that threatened the quality of life he would have if he lived. But of course, in Sharrod fashion, he defied the odds and awoke and gradually fought for his life. Once stable, he was faced with learning how to live again.

After being released from hospital, Sharrod spent a month in rehabilitation center and began the long journey to regain his basic abilities such as walking, talking, and cognition functions. With the support of his father and Texas support system and his siblings, Sharrod relocated to Texas and entered a new rehabilitation center elevate his progressions with his physical achievements and waiting on regaining his eyesight, which has not been fully recovered.

With the new medical challenges, Sharrod is currently disabled and unable to work as he is focused on improving the quality of life through physical therapy. He is also facing mounting medical expenses, day-to day costs of living, and wanting to have some form of safeguard to focus on his health. As he focuses on his recovery, the burden of financial stress has grown and become a distraction.

But, as Sharrod has lifted our spirits with his sweet creations and infectious personality, we now have the opportunity to lift him in return. We're reaching out to our community to support our brother, friend, family, TV personality, favorite baker, inspiration, during this difficult but also blessed time. Our goal is to not only support Sharrod through this challenging period but also to give him the chance to start fresh when he is ready and able. Whether it's getting back into the kitchen or finding a new path, we want to ensure that Sharrod has the resources he needs to regain his strength, health, and hope for the future!

Your love offering, no matter the size, will make a tremendous difference. it will help alleviate the financial strain on Sharrod and provide the stability needed to focus on what matters most- this second chance he's been BLESSED with.
