Help Chelsea Hetrick-Single Mom in a Car Accident
Donation protected
On Wednesday, May 10th, Chelsea Hetrick was in a catastrophic car accident through no fault of her own. A careless driver pulled out in front of her, and she had no choice but to take evasive action. This resulted in her hitting an enbankment, rolling several times, and then hitting a power pole- at which time she was ejected from the vehicle and thrown 60+ feet into a field full of fresh manure. She was airlifted to Borgess Hospital where it was discovered she had a collapsed lung, broken ribs, a fractured back, and a mangled leg- part of which had to be amputated on Monday, May 15th. (Because of the risk of infection from being covered in the manure, surgery had to be delayed to ensure she was clear.)
Chelsea is a single mom who has 3 young daughters ranging in age from 5 - 14. She is a hard worker who was in the process of looking to start a new career; she had just had a job interview. Chelsea will be unable to work for several months while recovering. Once her leg heals, she will then have to have a prosthetic fitted, which will lead to more healing and recovery time.
At this time we are unsure how much her medical bills will be. We are hoping to raise enough money to help her with those and any other expenses for herself and her girls while she is off work, such as paying bills/rent and groceries, trips back and forth to doctor's appointments, etc... Any little bit helps and is greatly appreciated.
