Help Cheryl Fight Leukemia!!

Donation protected
Update (8/25/2024)
My sister Cheryl Vetter lost her fight to leukemia yesterday(8/24). She was home per her wishes surrounded by her family. We truly appreciate all the support we have received during this process. The donations and financial support gave Cheryl the peace of mind to more focus on her health. We ask for your continued prayers, and we are grateful she is no longer in pain. If you so choose to any further donations will be given to her husband David to help him and their family through this time of grieving.

UPDATE (1/10/24)
CHERY IS OUT!! She was released following a positive test for her white blood cell count (1.0x10^9 / L) . From here she will be at a secondary recovery location to continue her 100 day recovery, with plans of going home around April 5th of this year. Her Hemoglobin and Plasma has been holding consistently which has meant there hasn't been a need for further blood transfusions. However even though the primary levels are doing well, blood tests are still being regularly taken to assure the other levels (like magnesium) are where they need to be. Cheryl did have to have a infusion of magnesium during this latest checkup, so we are not 100% out of the water at this point. Thank you again for your support through this difficult time in Cheryl's life and we are definitely approaching the final stages of recovery.

UPDATE (12/28/23)
THE BONE MARROW HARVEST AND TRANSPLANT WAS A SUCCESS!! 1L of Marrow was taken from Karen and given to Cheryl and so far no reactions. Karen will be recovering over the next couple of days. Interesting fact; Cheryl's blood type going into the transplant was A- and post transplant became the same as Karen, O+.

UPDATE (9/19/23)
Thank you all for your support during this difficult period in Cheryl's life! Your well wishes, donations, and all-together positivity has been amazing!

Cheryl is currently at home, still undergoing daily chemo, and is having weekly check-in appointments on Mon/Wed/Fri. During the beginning stages of her leukemia there were issues with her platelet levels and she was receiving donor platelets to boost her level. The level doctors shoot for is 12-20. This most recent checkup her levels were in the positive (50) and has been staying more consistent (45-50).
They are currently awaiting the results of a third Bone Marrow Biopsy
A trip is being planned to take her to Indy where Bone Marrow transplant plans will start to take form. As soon as her leukemia is "In-remission", she will be eligible for the transplant.

We are making a lot of positive steps in the right direction, and hope to continue this path towards full remission! While she has been home her husband has been able to work in a limited capacity however when her leukemia goes into remission and they travel back to Indy for the transplant we are unsure how long that whole process will take. I will update as I find out more, but please keep Cheryl and her family in your thoughts and prayers!

A local fundraiser is currently in the works. We do have a Facebook page for more in-depth updates titled "Cheryl’ Fight", that can be joined.

-ORIGNAL STORY-
This is the fundraiser for Cheryl Vetter, who was recently diagnosed with AML, an aggressive form of Leukemia.

She is currently undergoing treatment in the hospital for the next 30 days. Her husband is staying in the hospital with her and is unable to work because of the state of her immune system. She is very vulnerable to viruses and bacteria. As we all know even when we are down bills continue to come in, and this fundraiser is to help ease her through this stressful time and allow her entire family to focus on healing. If you feel moved and would like to donate it would be greatly appreciated.

If you are unable to donate, any prayers or general well wishes towards Cheryl would equally be appreciated.
Thank you! :)
