PARDON ME PETITION Help -Advocate for Second Chances
Donation protected
This plea begins with a personal story of redemption and transformation. I am Chester Simmons a Pastor that has served in Central Florida and the Pine Hills community in Orlando Florida for many years. Twenty six years ago as a young man I was convicted for selling drugs in my community, and I served time as a Federal Offender. I spent five years in Federal prison and five years of probation. However, since my release, I have not only reformed but thrived, positively impacting the community I once was a detriment to.
My Story
Today, I am not just leading people in the Christian Faith but also providing invaluable resources - food, clothing, and spiritual support to community members in need. I have extended my influence and goodwill beyond borders, overseeing numerous churches both in the States and Africa. My expertise extends to real estate as a builder/contractor, authoring two books, and offering spiritual guidance via a podcast, social media and live broadcast platform weekly.
My story is no exception. There are numerous individuals nation-wide who, following a history of federal offending, have managed to change their paths and are now serving our communities in meaningful ways. This current structure of the criminal justice system, which does not offer pardon consideration after a significant crime-free period, fails to acknowledge these individuals' genuine efforts towards rehabilitation.
A collective effort is needed to request a legal mechanism for pardoning federal offenders, who, after 10-15 years of lawful living, have become law-abiding, contributing citizens. It is a call for understanding and acknowledging that people can and do change.
In the United States, there is an estimated 70 million people - nearly a quarter of the population - with some kind of criminal record (National Conference of State Legislatures). With such a significant segment of the population being impacted, the need for reform becomes more pressing.
Fight for forgiveness, redemption, and a second chance. Sign this petition to urge policymakers to introduce the possibility of pardoning federal criminals after demonstrating a decade or more of crime-free living and substantial community contribution.
Please sign the attached petition if you would like to support our cause.
Thank you!
