Help Chevy the Greyhound Survive Dog Attack
Donation protected
Chevy, the beautiful gentle Greyhound (adopted from Friends of the Greyhound Adoption Group, Australia), was on a morning walk with his mum at Wollongbar, NSW, on 2nd October and was savagely attacked by two dogs. The two dogs came running out of the owners yard unleashed.
The attack was totally unprovoked and as a result, poor Chevy is critically wounded with big and deep teeth marks and torn muscle fragments.
On 5th October Chevy had a major setback and now has fluid or air in his lungs and has been transferred to the Animal Emergency Service Hospital at Carrara on the Gold Coast for further treatment.
The specialist vet bills are unknown at this stage and Chevy's mum is beside herself & is focusing on getting Chevy the specialist treatment he needs to pull through.
Donations would be massively appreciated to help towards Chevy's mounting vet bills as Chevy's mum unfortunately doesn't have pet insurance for Chevy.
As a fellow Greyhound lover and long time dog owner myself, I have offered to set up this Go Fund Me for Chevy's mum as I know how devasting it is to see our dogs suffer and how helpless it feels to not have the funds to help your baby. The last thing Chevy's mum needs right now is to worry about how she's going to pay for Chevy's treatment.
The owner of the two dogs who attacked Chevy has agreed to pay the local vet who has been treating Chevy over the last few days. The Go Fund Me funds will be used to pay the Animal Emergency Service at Carrara who are doing their best to treat Chevy.
Any funds left over will be donated to Friends of the Hound - Greyhound Adoption Group (non-profit organisation).
Anything you can help with would be so very much appreciated.
I will update this post as soon as I get updates from Chevy's mum from the vets.
Thank you for your help.
