Help Chewbacca breathe again.

This is my grand kitty, Chewbacca. Chewbacca is 14 years old. She is a very sheltered, domesticated kitty who rarely goes outside. She has all of her shots, and she had reproductive surgery a long time ago. Chewbacca is a very gentle, empathetic kitty. She was a gift to my son when he turned 16. She is loved and cherished by every member of this family.

However, at this time, Chewy has a tooth infection that requires surgery, and it is making it almost impossible for her to breathe. As breathing is not optional, her surgery is urgent. The vet quoted us $800 for the surgery, and so we're asking for $1200 to cover any medication and any extra charges that the doctor may give us. My son is a student and a gig worker, and I am permanently disabled and also a gig worker, so our income is very tight, and our savings have already been emptied. Every dollar raised will go towards Chewbacca's surgery.

I have tried, and my son has tried, to get Care Credit through the vet, but our credit score and our outstanding debts are higher than the average lending company will allow. I personally also tried with a predatory lender to get a 37% interest rate loan and was denied.

(Update) 4/18 she had labs and X-ray and as of now the doctor says that she is NOT a candidate for any anesthesia due to the lack of oxygen. So she is being tested for asthma, allergies, lung infection and diabetes. The goal is to get her breathing and gain some weight so she can have her tooth extracted. We signed up for "care club" with the office and a lot of things are covered but the actual extraction is not. She has been signed up for senior care insurance. We still need to raise at least $1200 to cover the extraction as if insurance pays any of it it will be a reimbursement. Our care club membership for her senior paws plan is still $200 a month.

she got an antibiotic and a steroid medication for 10days.

Thank you to the generosity of everyone who has donated so far. We've received $175 outside of go fund me. All of the funds raised will go to chewy doctor appointments in on form or another.
