Hello my name is Cheyenne, I’m reaching out for any and all help with a down payment on a new car. On July 24th, I was traveling west on i40 in the right lane to go to work at 4:30am (5mins from home) when a drunk driver driving the opposite way towards me was coming at me head on. Drunk driver hit the middle concrete barrier, swerved in all 3 lanes and stopped right in front of me as I was traveling 65MPH, in attempt to go around and avoid the collision, semi driver traveling at 65MPH was crossing over into all my available lanes that were open, blocking a way out, and eventually I t boned the semi and after my car bounced off I side swiped the drunk driver. In my best efforts to avoid the collision, I was caught in a almost deadly situation where I was able to walk away with severe bruising and sore body. In result my car was absolutely totaled. Due to NC Tort Law, if I am found even 1% negligent in a collision, then Insurance companies do not have to pay. I had a lawyer to defend me against the drunk driver but unfortunately after a couple months of back and fourth, I was found partial negligent by trying to avoid hitting her.
I am a single mum of a wonderful 5 year old who I would do anything for and I am so thankful to still be here today to see her next birthday.
I am currently using Uber and Lyft until I can get in a new vehicle, but that’s where I need help ❤️I am struggling to save up for a new car because I am paying +$500 a month on Lyft and Uber rides, along with my other bills. $3,500 will help me with a down payment on a new vehicle as well as tags, registration, Ect. So I can get back on my feet and start getting back to normal again ❤️
I am so beyond grateful for anything you can give, or even just to share my story ❤️
Remember, life is short, so make sure you’re living it
