Help ChiChi Lay Her Father to Rest in Nigeria
Donation protected
To all who are willing to donate on behalf of our dear friend and beloved co-worker, Chinwe Anyanwu (ChiChi), a compassionate and hardworking Patient Care Associate on North Pavillion 14 at Yale New Haven Hospital. She is the heart of our floor — always going above and beyond for our patients, treating every person she meets with kindness, respect, and a warm smile. Now, in her time of grief, she needs our support.
Just recently, ChiChi's father passed away during his prolonged hospitalization here at Yale. The love she showed for her father was evident to all of us here on NP14. She made every possible effort to spend every waking moment with her father, often spending her breaks and time off work to remain by his side. As if the loss isn’t heavy enough, she is now facing the overwhelming and costly responsibility of transporting her father’s body home to Nigeria so he can be laid to rest with dignity, surrounded by family and community.
This was her father’s final wish — to be brought back home for a proper funeral and burial. Unfortunately, international transportation of remains is incredibly expensive, and this cost is one ChiChi cannot carry alone.
We are asking for your help to raise $5,000 to cover:
The cost of transporting her father’s body to Nigeria
Funeral and burial expenses
Any necessary documentation or legal requirements
ChiChi has devoted her life to caring for others. She shows up every day for our patients, even now while carrying the weight of this personal loss. It’s our turn to show up for her.
Any amount you can give — no matter how small — will make a difference. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this with your networks to help us reach others who may be able to help.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your compassion, generosity, and support.
