Help Chloe Beat Hodgkins Lymphoma!

My name is Anna Green, and Chloe is my best friend and one of my favorite people in the whole world. I have had the pleasure of working with Chloe at Kroger since 2015. Chloe is a fantastic friend and a wonderful bonus aunt to my little boy, I do not know what I would have done without her over the last few years.

 

Chloe's cancer journey first started in April 2021. She noticed a swollen lymph node on only one side of her neck with no signs of being sick. She thought it was unusual, but it went down just in time for her college graduation and wedding. One week after their honeymoon, the lymph node returned with severe symptoms. Chloe underwent many procedures to confirm everyone's worst fears; it was stage 4b Hodgkin's Lymphoma.

 

To get the best care possible, Chloe moved back in with her parents to receive treatment in the Chicago area for 6 months. This meant taking an unpaid medical leave from work and moving 6 hours away from her new husband.

 

Everything seemed to be going very well. Chloe had a clear PET scan midway through treatment and experienced very few side effects from the chemo. It was a complete shock when her post-treatment PET scan showed new activity. The doctor thinks that her body had stopped responding to treatment, calling the cancer "refractory." Another surgery is scheduled to confirm that the new activity is the Hodgkins Lymphoma back again in stage 4. 

 

Just when Chloe thought her life would begin, it all got put on hold. And when she felt it was safe to start planning for the future, it all came crashing down again.
