Help Chloe train her service dog Duster
Donation protected
Hi everyone it's Chloe here. As many of you know this year I received my 3rd rare disease diagnosis and things have been tough.
Myasthenia Gravis has been earth shatteringly hard. We are haemorrhaging money on medical expenses and life is hard in a different way every day. It was suggested to us that a service dog would help physically, emotionally and medically.
To help keep me safe we have got our beautiful floof ball duster who will be trained as a service dog and a medical alert dog. Dogs can detect the neurotransmitter Acetylcholine and be trained to give warning signals when a person's levels are dropping, are low when they try to get up and to others if they fall/ have a MG crisis (fatigue so extreme it effects the ability to breath)
There are organisation who can place fully trained dogs with people but they take many years and cost huge amounts of money. Because of this we have decided to undertake pup training ourselves.
This fundraiser is to help us with the costs of annual registration and training of this little pooch with a big role to play.
Our goal is $1200 this will cover
- 12 Months of registration and insurance with our chosen assistance dog organisation
- 6 training sessions
Any money received over the requested amount will go towards further training sessions.
It is expected to take 2 years to fully train Duster in scent detection/ medical alert.
Big love
Chloe
