Help Chris & Amanda in Tough Times

Hello. My name is Chris, and the last thing in the world I want to do is ask for help from anyone this close to Christmas. That being said, a wise friend of mine told me recently, everybody finds themselves in need, and can't be afraid to ask for help.

I have become very ill with a myriad of heart problems, and the doctors have told me that working is not an option for a while. Unfortunately, as we all know, life, bills, and responsibilities don't care about these situations and keep on coming.

Amanda and I have been blessed that our local friends and family have come together to make sure our children have a good Christmas and help us out with groceries and such. The moral support has been overwhelming and much appreciated!

I have started the process of applying for short-term disability and the other programs that are offered by New York State. But, unfortunately, these things take time. Our Medicare has just come through and is helping with the medical bills; however, our everyday bills (power, groceries, heating fuel, etc.) are piling up in front of us. Not to mention, poor Amanda is at her wit's end trying to look after me and help her parents clean and try to move back into their house after a fire gutted their kitchen and took many important family things from them.

Every little bit helps, and I want to thank you in advance for anything that can be given, even words of love and encouragement. Please keep us in your prayers, especially my amazing wife. Without her strength and love, the kids and I would be lost.
