Help Chris Beat Cancer's Ass
Donation protected
Hi! I'm Stephanie,
In early August 2022 my dad, Chris Mannerino, went to the emergency room for severe stomach pains and vomiting which made eating extremely difficult. After multiple doctor visits, scans and biopsies he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer including a 2-3 cm lesion on his liver, since the cancer is not contained in one specific area the doctors say that it is inoperable. This diagnosis comes as a huge shock as there is no family history of cancer. This has not stopped him from wanting to kick cancers ass!! As he tells my mother "Our story doesn't end this way." and the support he has from friends and family is unimaginable.
My dad is 56 years old, the doctor's want to start treatments immediately, He is currently starting an aggressive chemotherapy treatment that will be a 46-hour slow drip which allows him to go home and stay as comfortable as possible. However, this man is hardheaded and wants to continue to work. He works in new home construction in the Buckhead area and absolutely loves what he does. Unfortunately, doctors believe that the fulltime, strenuous work that his job needs will only cause more stress and exhaustion not allowing his body to fully heal and recover before his next treatments. He is extremely hardworking, he would go out of his way to help anyone and has always put everyone else's needs before his own, to know him is to know how generous and kindhearted he is. My parents work hard every day to provide not only for themselves but for their 4 children and 4 amazing grandchildren and this is why I would like to start a go fund me for them.
My mother, Joyce, who is the glue that holds everything together, will ultimately be his caregiver while working a fulltime job to help with not only piling up medical bills but the everyday bills that don't stop. We are fully aware that there will be times when she will be needed to care for my dad and there will be days that she is just as mentally, physically and emotionally exhausted as she helps to keep him comfortable. I'm asking for help, one because I know they are too stubborn to do so on their own and two because I want both of them to focus on their health as they both endure the unknown.
