Chris Chicago needs lifesaving financial support

Facebook update 7/25/24
Hello, friends -

I’m here with bad news and good news.

Bad news first - Chris’ health has deteriorated rapidly over the summer. His cancer has become very aggressive and has grown and spread. He is in constant pain and discomfort. He is not able to work or do much of anything except try to get comfortable enough to rest (which is very difficult and frustrating). This is serious. He needs something extreme in order to save his life.

The good news is that he has been accepted into a year long treatment program with an amazing cancer center that focuses on healing his entire person and develops an individual cancer treatment made just for him. It begins with 3 weeks at the clinic and then the treatment and support continues for a year afterward. It sounds like exactly what he needs and we are so excited that he gets to do it. It begins next Thursday, August 1.

There’s just one big hurdle left - this treatment costs upwards of $50k, not including travel. Payment is due up front (on August 1). We are also facing at least two months of lost income. This is not the first time we have asked for financial help, and many of you have already been so generous. If you aren’t able to give more, we understand. But if you are, we need any support you can offer. We also need and appreciate prayers! Share this link with anyone, anywhere. We are excited to see how God moves yet another mountain for us ❤️

Hello friends!

Chris and I wanted to update you all on how Chris is doing. Thanks so much to all of you who regularly pray and check in on us - we love you

While Chris’ overall health greatly improved in 2023, this year has not been as encouraging. The tumor in his armpit has grown and spread and has been causing him pain. We are still fighting, trusting God and staying positive, but we do realize some additional action is necessary at this point.

In mid-June, Chris will be traveling out of state for an intensive 2-week treatment. We believe God led us to this clinic and we are excited for him to get to go! We are hopeful that it will improve his symptoms and, along with alll the other things he is doing, cause his cancer to shrink and disappear!

The treatment is not covered by insurance and Chris will also be needing to take half a month off of work for it. We would be so blessed by the financial aspect of this being supplemented or covered. If you are able to help, we would be so grateful. Also, if you know Chris and his story and want to share our fundraiser, that would also be great.

Thanks again for all of your support in this journey! We aren’t even close to giving up and we know God is with us ❤️

Facebook update 1/16/24:
Hello friends! It’s been a while, so thought I’d write an update!

It’s hard to believe it has been more than a year since this all began, but here we are. We have seen many positive changes in Chris’ health that are so encouraging. He feels good, has remained pain free, is off all of his pharmaceutical meds, is no longer a type 2 diabetic, has normal blood pressure and cholesterol, has perfect bloodwork, and is at a healthier weight. We’re so thankful that his body has done so much healing.

As for the cancer, he has decided not to do scans for now, unless any urgent symptoms present themselves (which has not happened, praise the Lord!), because he/we are confident in our treatment plan and don’t believe anything we could see in a scan would change that. Not to mention, scans can be toxic, both physically and mentally, and we are trying to eliminate any possible hindrances to healing.

Please continue to pray for Chris’ healing as we wait on the Lord. We had hoped the swollen lymph nodes/tumors in Chris’ right armpit area would be GONE by now, but they are not. We are trusting in God and in Chris’ body to heal, and the more we learn about natural healing, the more we learn that it can be a slow process. Please pray for the cancer to shrink and disappear from his body. Please pray for his mental health and outlook to remain positive and hopeful as we patiently wait and continue his many regiments day in and day out. Please pray for good, consistent sleep - sleep is still one of his biggest struggles. It means so much to know y'all are praying.

The fundraiser our sisters set up at the beginning of all this exceeded its goal, which was an unbelievable blessing and we are so thankful. Since this all began, we have spent around $500 a month on juicing, between $400-$800 a month on IV treatments and bloodwork, and at least $350 a month (often hundreds more) on supplements, medications, oils, alkaline water, cleanses, etc.. We are also buying Chris all organic food. Those things add up and we are so thankful that the Lord has provided for absolutely everything. If you are able and would like to continue to support us as we keep this up thru 2024, we have started another fundraiser. Any gift will help us as we continue faithfully on this journey towards healing!

Tons of love and a Happy New Year to you all! We thank God for you! Chris is taking a break from social media, but I’ll be sure to pass on any well wishes that are left here!

-Jessica
