Help Chris & Dawn With Medical & Living Expenses
Donation protected
Hey friends + family!
It’s Kelaiah here and I am raising funds for my mom and dad, Chris + Dawn Johnsey.
Many of you know that my dad has been in the hospital for over a week now. He went to the ER with a 103.3 fever, convulsing, and severe pain in his chest to the point that he could barely breath. It was completely unexpected and out of the blue.
After lots of testing, they ended up finding a germ called “graham negative rods” in his blood that was attacking his body, which in turn caused the fever, severe pain, etc. He was diagnosed with septis & a rare blood infection. The doctors felt that the germ was located in his gut, so they decided to do a colonoscopy.
When they got in there, they found a tumor they are saying is cancerous on his colon that was blocking them from doing the rest of the procedure. They ended up doing major surgery a day later on him, cutting out the tumor & checking his lymph nodes to make sure the “cancer” didn’t spread anywhere else in his body.
Surgery went WELL. It was about 4 hours long. The tumor ended up being bigger than they thought, so it took more time to isolate the tumor and get it out. They cut it out & also are checking his lymph nodes. The pathology report is not back yet. They are saying he will need chemotherapy or radiation, but we are declaring not! We are saying NO to that in Jesus name! Overall, he did VERY well & did not need any blood transfusions, a bag, etc!
He has had AMAZING doctors & surgeons. When he got back in his room that evening, he was extra sleepy and at first his breathing was a little slower than they liked & he had stopped breathing for 14 seconds, so they decided to put him on a full mask of oxygen. He had that on for about 6-8 hours. Toward the end it was driving him crazy, so he got it off late that night. Since then he has been able to breathe normal without any oxygen at all. His vitals and blood pressure are looking GREAT.
The day after surgery he was already able to walk down the halls & be back to his normal self (personality wise) with little to no pain!! The doctors have said that overall he has surpassed all of the obstacles & challenges they thought he would face. PRAISE GOD! He now has been able to eat mini meals as well, which is a huge praise!! God’s presence has been so strong with him the entire way. He is with him & performing miracles right before their eyes. My dad has been ministering to the nurses, doctors, etc. and testifying of the goodness, faithfulness, and love of Jesus - telling everyone about Him and what He has done ️ So many divine appointments have come of this with all of us! We have been declaring his body is a cancer free zone. Divine recovery in Jesus name for His glory.
With all this being said, this unexpected trial has taken a toll on my parents financially. My mom doesn’t have a job right now & they are saying my dad won’t be able to work for at least 6 weeks after he is released from the hospital, so they have no income coming in. They are also not sure what will be covered for them hospital bill wise on top of living/medical expenses including regular bills.
My parents are two of the most generous people, literally willing to give anyone the shirt off of their backs, and I know it would bless them both tremendously if you were willing to sow into them as they navigate these difficult waters ahead. Even if you cannot give financially, would you continue to life our family up in prayer? We are eternally grateful for each and every one of you. Thank YOU for praying for my dad & my family, believing with us, and supporting us however the Lord is leading you to!
May YOU be blessed as you are a BLESSING! ❤️
