Chris Elliott Forever ♥️

On Halloween, I received some of the most devastating news of my life. I found out that my Dad, the man who shaped me and has been my rock my entire life, has LUNG CANCER.

My dad is the hardest working man I have ever known. He has been a master electrician his entire life and has worked hard Labor day in and day out to provide for my family. Our family has always been his first priority and despite his financial struggles at times, we never went hungry due to his dedication to providing for his family. My dad has been sick for a long time, but is not one to go to the doctor, take medication or ask for help... EVER.

A few weeks ago, I had an intuition that he was really not well. He was weak when I visited with him on his birthday October 16th and knew something was terribly wrong. I decided to move 4 hours south to my hometown on a whim because I felt in my heart that he desperately needed medical attention and would never follow through on his own.

I rushed him to the ER only a few days after moving because he could no longer breathe. His oxygen levels were fatal when he was admitted (in the 70's) and we discovered that he has a large mass on his right lung which was obstructing a main artery to his airway. He had an emergency stent placed so that he could breathe (with oxygen), but will need further treatment and has NO INSURANCE. My dad recently accepted a new job and has a lapse in insurance because of the 90 day grace period. WORST TIMING EVER.

I have had to cancel all upcoming tattoo appointments to be his caretaker right now and am not able to work, so finances are a nightmare.  My life is on hold until I figure out how to get him the proper treatment to save his life. He is my priority right now. I am most concerned with making sure that we can pay my Dad's home bills so that he can heal and not stress about finances in this desperate time for my family.  He was literally laying in the ER saying, "I have to get back to work, I can't afford this." Of course he can't, no one can afford healthcare without insurance in America, especially being out of work.

I never ask for handouts and my Dad certainly doesn't, but this is an extremely desperate time for my family. Anyone who knows my amazing Dad, knows what an incredible man and person he is. He would help anyone at anytime, friend to the friendless, and just an amazing human being. He lives his life like the late, great Ronnie Van Zant from Lynyrd Skynyrd and is truly just a "simple kind of man" with a heart of gold. He is a father of three and grandfather of three young boys. I truly would not be the person I am today without him. I'm his mini me and I can't lose him yet... he means the world to me, but without financial support, treatment and coverage for medications will be impossible. Luckily this is a single mass and should be treatable.

Thank you in advance to all of my amazing friends, clients and family who donate... we are so grateful. I will be organizing a big benefit show  as well and will update accordingly.
