Help Chris financially after motorcycle accident

Hello, my name is Melony and I am trying to help a friend of mine financially after being involved in a motorcycle accident that has landed him in the hospital and what will be a long road of recovery.

With his permission, he has allowed me to share the rollercoaster of events that have happened since the accident.

On Wednesday, December 5th, my husband received a phone call that Chris had been involved in a collision with a vehicle while riding his motorcycle at around 3:30 PM. He was taken by ambulance to VBMC so they would be able to further examine him. Upon arrival, scans and X-rays showed the accident resulted in his injuries including his left femur being broken, fractures throughout all his right leg including ankle, fibula, knee, and femur, 4 fractured ribs, a fracture on his left thumb, an internal cut on his liver, and a hernia. He was placed in the ICU to be under further watch due to the severity of his injuries.

On Thursday, December 6th, he went into surgery to repair the broken femur. A metal rod was placed internally with the purpose to stabilize and align the femoral shaft after the break. Surgery went well but it wasn’t over yet.

On Friday, December 7th, he went into surgery to work on all of the fractures through his right leg and also the fracture on his thumb. Once again, surgery went well but this will only be the start to his recovery. They placed external fixation metal pins and rods throughout his whole right leg that go through his bones to help the fractured bones heal. He’s been in a lot of pain after both surgeries and this is only the start to the financial issues to come.

He is currently still in the hospital, but doctors have said he will be in a wheelchair, unable to use his legs, and the healing process can take up to 5 months for him to be able to use his legs again.

This GoFundMe campaign aims to alleviate any financial burden during this trying time, such as costs associated with his medical care, surgeries, physical therapy, rehabilitation, and we are reaching out for support. This accident is unfortunate and he is asking for help. Financially this will be difficult on him not being able to work for that extent of time so any contributions are greatly appreciated.
