Help Chris Hallock with the cost of surgery.

Hello friends and family,

My dad, Chris Hallock, will be undergoing surgery for diverticulitis (an infection of the colon) this Tuesday 5/21. He has been battling this off and on for more than 10 years, but it has intensified over the last few years with flare ups regularly. Because he’s been dealing with this for so long, it’s important to have this surgery soon because the condition can worsen quickly. We are excited that he will hopefully be able to feel so much better soon after surgery!

A couple years ago, my parents joined a share plan for insurance. Just last week, while working through the pre-surgery administrative process, they learned that the share plan would not be contributing toward the cost of surgery at all (estimated to be $30,000) because they deemed the infection a preexisting condition. Dad has decided to move forward with the surgery despite all of this since it is quite urgent to avoid further serious complications. We are creating this GoFundMe in order to help with the unexpected burden of the full cost of surgery and few night hospital stay.
