A Rally for Chris
For twelve years, Chris has been more than just a tennis coach at CMT – he’s been a mentor, a friend, and a source of unwavering encouragement for everyone who stepped onto the court. His dedication and deep passion for the game have shaped countless players, from beginners to seasoned pros. Whether it was a beginner learning their first serve or a seasoned competitor perfecting their backhand, Chris was always there with patient advice and an encouraging word.
Last week everything changed. After months of struggling with intense stomach pain, Chris received a diagnosis no one ever expected: colon cancer. The news hit his family, his students, and the entire CMT community like a wave, leaving everyone shocked and uncertain. Chris, who has always been dedicated to his students, now finds himself fighting a battle of his own.
But true to his nature, Chris hasn’t given up. He will soon start his treatments, the road ahead is long, and the medical expenses are mounting. In the midst of all this, the CMT family has come together to help. A GoFundMe page has been set up to support Chris during his recovery. It’s not just about the money; it’s about showing Chris how much he means to everyone who’s ever picked up a racquet under his watch.
The love that Chris has poured into the tennis community over the years is being returned tenfold. Every donation, every message of support, every kind gesture is a testament to the impact he’s had on the lives around him. His students, colleagues, and friends are not just standing by; they’re rallying behind him, ready to help him win this fight, just as he has helped so many others win on the court.
Though the challenge ahead is tough, one thing is certain: Chris isn’t facing it alone. The CMT community is with him every step of the way.
Together, we’ll ensure that Chris can focus on what he does best: coaching, healing, and, one day, returning to the court where he’s always belonged.
