Help Chris Overcome Medical and Financial Hurdles

Hi I’m Steve, raising money for my friend and fellow brother in Christ Chris. He has a rare condition (especially at his age) - Barrett's Esophagus. This was misdiagnosed for him for many years, in which his esophagus became damaged and has required surgeries to continue to correct. More recently, he has had severe difficulty swallowing and has gone to a liquid diet. And upon having chest pain increase, followed by coughing up blood, losing weight and getting very fatigued, was admitted to the hospital for a variety of tests. The testing revealed the need for an urgent surgery to repair some support at the esophageal connection to the stomach, which will be followed by another surgery to remove damaged esophageal tissue.

This will require Chris to be out of work for another week (at least) in the hospital and an unknown length post-surgery to heal. He has had a recent insurance change that has left the surgeon (and some recent treatments) not covered, which have been charged 100% out of pocket. This (and some unexpected car trouble) has caused some debt recently ($3-4k) with further impact post-hospital stay being out of work.
