Help Christa Garcia-Dill In Her Fight

First, I hope you all are staying safe and doing well during this rather difficult time.
As a lot of you may recall, I have recently been asking for prayers for my sister without disclosing full details of why. Christa has always been somewhat of a private person so out of respect for her, I wanted to try and keep the details private of what she was actually going through at the time. After talking with her, we feel the time is right. We know a lot of people love her so we felt it's important for you to know what is actually going on.
For the past few months Christa has been in and out of the hospital. It all started with blood clots that kept her in the hospital for over a week. They were able to get it under control but she would need to be on blood thinners for more than likely the rest of her life. We thought that was the extent of her issues but we were sadly wrong.
A few weeks passed and Christa suddenly one day developed a severe migraine that forced her to the ER. They ran various tests (MRI, CT Scan, etc) and determined she didn’t have a migraine but rather a mini stroke. They also had discovered some masses throughout her body that they were a bit concerned with so they decided to transfer her to St. Thomas West in Nashville.
The toughest part of her stay in Nashville is that due to Covid-19, none of her family could be with her during this time. She was alone. After a few days and some additional testing, they determined the masses were what we feared: Cancer. We were all devastated.
Christa has been officially diagnosed with Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer with an EGFR mutation. You can read a bit about EGFR here to help you understand what she is up against: https://egfrcancer.org/about-egfr/ . Once her Dr.'s determined it was an EGFR mutation, they decided the best way to fight it would be with a target treatment (Tagrisso Osimertinib) rather than chemotherapy.
As her brother, I felt it was my responsibility to start this GoFundMe page to help her, my brother-in-law and nephew during this very difficult time. The funds raised will help them financially with what we know will be a very expensive battle to fight. And she is ready to fight. God is with her and so are we!
Outside of GoFundMe, my parents (Randy and Shanna Simmons) have also setup an account at First Community Bank of Shelbyville, TN under the Christa Garcia-Dill Benefit Account if you would like to donate offline.
Christa and the entire family thank you for the love, support and prayers during this time. We love you all.
