Help Christa on her Breast Cancer Journey

Hello Beautiful People! Let me start by telling you about my journey thus far.

In September of 2022, I found a lump on my right breast. I, like so many women before me, I didn’t think too awful much about it. I assumed after my next menstrual cycle it would go away. I was planning my wedding and getting married on 10-22-22 so I didn’t really want to throw anymore on my plate to deal with.

After my wedding and my amazing honeymoon, in early November, the lump was still present and had become painful. I decided to see my Gynecologist and all the tests began.

On December 7th 2022, I received the phone call I had been dreading. I was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, Triple Negative, Stage II Breast Cancer. After more tests and lots of waiting, I started my treatment plan on January 24 2023. I am doing 12 weeks of weekly treatments. The “sets” are the first week receiving Keytruda Immunotherapy, Taxol and Carboplatin. The following 2 weeks receiving Taxol only. Then it starts over. The next 12 weeks I will receive AC(red devil) and keytruda immunotherapy every 3 weeks. I will then have a month off the chemotherapy and prep for a Double Mastectomy with reconstruction. After all that is healed I will go back for yet another 6 months of Keytruda infusions every 3 weeks.

This process is long, very exhausting and as you can imagine, expensive. I am not the type of person to ask for help but this whole process has humbled me to know when I can’t do it all by myself.

I do have an insurance but it’s the first of the year so I must reach my deductible, plus not everything is covered, including my double mastectomy. I will also be off work for 2 months during and after that surgeries.

So, here I am, asking for help. Anything will help and will be used for medical bills and possibly some living expenses while I am off work. I appreciate you for even taking the time to read this far on my story!
