Fund Gender Affirming Care for Christian

Hello friends! 

I’ve started this gofundme in the spirit of Pride month to assist Christian in getting the surgeries needed to move forward with their transition. 

Surgery, healing, medication and therapy is very costly (even more so than the goal set) and my hope is that our friends, family and community can come together to help them reach their goals.

For those of you who know them, Christian is a gem. They are creative, caring, and selfless and deserve these procedures out of medical necessity and more.

Hello everyone! I want to take a moment to say THANK YOU! Thank you for taking the time to donate and share. Every little bit counts and brings me one step closer to a brighter and safer future. Words can't even begin to describe the overwhelming gratitude I feel for all of my friends and community who are actively making a contribution to my well-being and security.

As most of you know, gender affirming procedures can be quite costly even with insurance. Not all procedures are deemed "medically necessary". The surgeries and procedures that are covered are limited to the few doctors and surgeons within my area that offer them, with most trans fem folks not receiving the level of feminization they need. Your donation helps me access gender affirming care that I could not access on my own. 

For those of you who don't know me personally I am a non-binary trans person of Filipino and American descent. As progressive as the Bay Area may be gender non conforming and trans folks, especially QTPOC, still endure rates of violence that are significantly higher than the rest of our gay and lesbian brothers and sisters. I have lived most of my life as a gender non conforming person presenting femme and have paid the price of living as my true authentic self by receiving violence, discrimination, and sexual assault. This is the reality for so many Trans/GNC/QTPOC, especially folks who present femme.

Despite these hardships I have devoted my life to spreading love and beauty. I am now taking that energy and putting it back into myself. Life is too fucking short to not do you 1000%, even if it is by any means necessary. I'm blessed to be able to afford HRT with insurance, but HRT has not had the feminizing affects on my body needed in order for me to safely live as female. I know that a lot of folks are still unemployed and/or aren't able to donate at this time but SHARING my gofundme is just as beneficial!
