Help Christina Abbott reclaim her music!

Hi all,

Christina Abbott here. I've been performing and writing original songs for the past 20 years. Some of you have contacted me over the years to tell me that my music made a difference in your life, or moved you, or you just thoroughly enjoyed the tunes. Those random emails and messages tended to come at times in my life where music felt the furthest away from me...and when it was critical for me to hear for my spirit. My music has gone through plenty of names and iterations like: Christina Abbott, The Christina Abbott Band, Cea Marie, Hot B*tch Arsenal/Heart Beats All (electronic-folk project), The Karner Blues (project with Jenn Dauphinais of Ponybird back in the day), etc. Despite various name changes, it was always me creating, writing, arranging, singing, crafting, alchemizing. In the sharing of my songs with others via bands or collaborative projects - some of those relationships were supportive, kind, insightful, helpful, symbiotic. Others wound up tainting music for me for periods of time where I had to walk away because it no longer felt like my safe space. I had let myself and my musical integrity be vulnerable and paid the price. But instead of feeling powerless about it all, because I still have music to make and to reclaim...I have decided to do something about it and need your help. Here is what I am setting out to do for 2021 into 2022 and I would like you to be a part of it:

1) The website domain christinaabbott.com, after years of being taken became available again so I just reclaimed it and bought it back!

2) I am going to catalog and digitize ALL of my old albums and songs for you and anyone who donates will be able to download for FREE these albums!!! I will convert them from whatever format into digital and make available on streaming platforms. I also have some VERY OLD songs on cassette of me as a teenager that I will convert before it's too late!

3) I am going to produce/re-record certain songs I wrote and did instrumentation on when I was in Hot B*tch Arsenal/Heart Beats all and release them!

4) I want to release/record my new solo EP(s) with all new material and want to produce them myself, with stellar co-production from Jenn Dauphinais (Ponybird music). I would like to work with musicians, engineers, etc. and people I love, respect and trust with my music and my spirit.

5) When I was 18 in the year 2000, I toured the United States for months in a van with another singer/songwriter, Russell Wolff. We booked our own shows, used a road atlas to get to where we were going, and had the experience of a lifetime. We recently reconnected and he has found all of the footage we took during our time on the road. Some of the footage includes us performing during the LA Riots on a moving truck bed, breaking into Mount Rushmore, and hitting a coyote in Wyoming. It was sort of a time capsule of America as it was, music as it was, and two people who had no idea what they were doing...doing it anyway. I would love to reclaim that time of my life and reconcile old wounds by helping edit all the video and make Roadkill Amerikana come to life as a documentary. Part of the film would include interviews of ourselves as we are now and people we met along the way. I'd also like to play some shows if possible while I am out there on the West Coast (Los Angeles, CA)- but need to get there first!

All of these things cost money, time and sweat equity, which I have very little of due to the wonderful world of debt! But if I just make excuses as to why I can't, without figuring out how I can, then I become a victim of my own making. So I am asking for your help. I am asking for you to help me close the loop, heal the bruises, and get the heck out there again and start creating for all of you. The music means so much to me. It is me. It is me at my core. It is the best way I know how to communicate. It is the best way I know how to be. My goal is to accomplish all these things by 2022, with some things being able to be accomplished earlier.
