Help Christina Hernandez Embrace Second Chance

My name is Shannon and I have a very good friend named Christina Hernandez. I have known her for over 40 years. We have been friends since Jr. High. In October 2023, my sweet friend was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer. The cancer had spread to her lymph nodes with masses on her liver and lungs. Since that time she was placed on a very aggressive chemo treatment schedule. The cancer really took her down. With her strength and her strong faith in God she was told a couple of weeks ago that she is in remission. A complete miracle.

With the cost of her medical bills, this has left her savings account completely empty and she's been having difficulties keeping up on her monthly expenses. She has fallen into a depression because she wants to move. Currently, she is living in a small town in Texas (population 1043) with no friends or family to spend time with her. Her Dr. has advised her that she needs to move where she will be happy and can thrive. The depression is not helping her recovery.

She has shared her dreams for the future and she has dreams of seeing her grandchildren grow up and rebuild her relationship with her daughter, whom she hasn't seen in a few years. She battled her cancer alone. I live 4 hours away from her and could only come out to see her once a month. She is a very strong lady that has been given a second chance to live but has no extra money for moving expenses or a down payment to live that second chance.

She is a one of the most compassionate and loving person that I know. If she knows someone that needs help, she literally won't sleep until that someone has the help they need. She will give the shirt off her back to help anyone she can. I have seen her help so many of her friends, family and strangers with no hesitation. Right now, she needs the help that she has given to others.

I know she would be embarrassed that I am setting up this fund raiser for her, however, I love her and know that she must live and thrive at this second chance for life that God has blessed her with.
