Alisal fire recovery for Christina Moore
Donation protected
We are a collective of local farmers and friends asking to help Christina Moore recover from the loss of her home and severe damage to her small flower farm, Heart Face Flowers, from the devastating Alisal Fire.
Christina is a hardworking, deeply generous community member who started her own small farm and business this past growing season. While many parts of her field survived the fire, she incurred serious damage to her irrigation and lost many plant starts which were to be next spring's flowers. The heat and smoke also severely impacted the last bloom of her fall flowers, which affects her revenue source on the farm. We are seeking $10,000 to help Christina repair her irrigation, replace the thousands of baby plants lost to the fire, carry her through the rest of her farming season as she repairs damage and prepares for next spring and help her purchase a yurt and living supplies to replace her home and personal possessions which she lost to the fire.
Our local farming community continues to be impacted by the effects of climate change and the ever-increasing wildfire season. It is more important than ever to make sure that we are supporting small-scale, sustainable farming in our community! Anything is appreciated to help our dear friend recover some of her personal losses and get her farm operating again.
