Help Christina Smith Get By and Finish Her Home
Donation protected
Christina Smith was left alone by the sudden death of her husband Leonard J. Smith on April 25th, 2024.
He left a hole in her heart and her soul, and as if that were not enough of a burden after almost 30 years of marriage, he also left her with unavoidable bills and living in an unfinished house. There is barely sheetrock up, we still need to finish the kitchen, create functional plumbing, seal the house from flooding, and so much more. After funeral costs and bills there is not much to go on. My mom hasn't worked in years because of her medical issues, and is struggling to find a position she can manage without causing too much pain.
We are asking for help from the community, to assist with $1, $5, or whatever you are able to donate.
He was a proud Marine, but the government hasn't helped him for years, and they don't seem to want to help us now. They poisoned him at Camp Lejeune and let him fend for himself after. He dedicated his life to being of service to others and taking care of his family. When he passed, he was a proud working man of the wildfire rescue industry, helping support the hot shots and the communities devastated by disaster. He helped so many people over his lifetime, defended those who couldn't defend themselves, and leant a hand to anyone in need. He was a tough man, but he was an honorable, community man. I know he would have left his beloved wife in a better position, had he known this was going to happen. Please help us with anything you can, to get through the winters and finish the house he started building with his own two hands.
Here is his memorial video, in case you want to see some of the beautiful memories he made during his life.
