Help The Sparks After Losing Everything In The Eaton Fire
Donation protected
My sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Scott and Christine Sparks, lost their house and all belongings in the Eaton fire. The early morning of January 8, Christine, Scott and their daughter Lilah watched closely as the Eaton Canyon Fire came closer and closer to their beautiful community in Altadena. They were remaining positive until they could see flames from their home and an evacuation order came with little time to pack essentials. While still remaining hopeful and cautious they evacuated with a few things and their two beloved scruffy little dogs.
They took shelter at Christine’s parents house until the next day when the tragic reality occurred that their beautiful first family home had been completely burned to ashes. I received an updated text on Wednesday January 8th at 2:47pm stating “It’s all gone” followed by horrifying pictures of an unrecognizable home. Within minutes their whole life had been reduced to soot and ash.
They are beyond grateful for their safety but the emotional, mental, financial and physical toll will be debilitating. This beautiful home was purchased just a few years ago. This young family of three is hard working, loving, loyal and deeply committed to providing their twelve year old daughter with a life of wonderful education, creativity and joy. Lilah was born a premie and is their miracle baby.
Christine has suffered health issues for the past few years and although they weren’t able to have any more children they feel immensely blessed with Lilah and their little fur babies. They were just getting back on their feet after Scott’s twin brother suddenly and tragically passed in 2021. Scott, an inside wireman electrician with IBEW, has been working tirelessly in his limited free time to renovate their home. In this tragic fire they lost everything.
Christine is the most loyal, deeply caring and loving human you will meet. Despite what this family of three has been through. They proceed on with hope, laughter, and gratitude. They need your help now more than ever.
Lilah is twelve years old and lost all school essentials, clothes and comforts and we all know how hard 7th grade can be regardless of having those things. Thank you in advance for taking time to read this and considering helping them in their most challenging time. You don’t even know how grateful they are for your help.
