Join us in our effort to support Christine Castaneda in her battle against cancer. As a community, we have an incredible opportunity to support our dear Sister, Wife, Mother , Grandmother and Friend in her biggest time of need.
The funding from your contributions will go directly towards assisting Christine with basic living expenses, groceries, prescription costs, uninsured medical expenses, medical co-pays, and any other needs directly related to her care.
With our support, Christine can continue her urgent medical treatment and be relieved of the financial stress of mounting medical bills.
We thank you all in advance for your kind consideration/generosity and know Christine will be eternally grateful for any help she's able to get!
Here is Christine’s story:
On December 13, 2018, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 non-small cell carcinoma in my right lung. After several diagnostic appointments I started my chemo therapy on January 23, 2019.
During my second round of chemo therapy treatments, l became very ill from side effects and was unable to function at work. I reluctantly had to take leave from work which I knew would put my family in financial hardship. Then, soon after, my insurance abruptly halted my chemo therapy treatments.
With no available funds for out of pocket treatments, my cancer therapy stopped. After several months of talking to the insurance company, we were able to resolve the insurance dispute. New tests were ordered to determine how to proceed with treating my cancer. The test revealed that what was once thought to be an operable condition was now determined inoperable. I now find myself in the position of having to start from square one. I have recently again started chemo therapy treatments and radiation therapy. With only one income supporting our family, my husband Tony is working as many extra hours as he can trying to keep us above water with the mounting medical bills. We both pray that my insurance company will not halt my treatments again.
