Christine's COVID-19 & Long Haulers Fight

In October 2020, Christine didn’t realize was that her previous shift at work in the Emergency Room would be her last for the next five months (and counting). A few days later, she found herself checking into her own place of employment for unexplainable symptoms that were not only confusing to her, but to her doctors as well. To date, she has had seventeen Emergency Room visits and five hospitalizations with each one, symptoms worsening. The results shaped her diagnosis of Long Haulers, a condition she describes as “treading water just trying to survive the waves”. The saga continues with new symptoms or ailments presenting spontaneously. She continues to fight her mystery diagnosis and is in the process of enrolling in a clinic, dedicated to those with COVID-19 Long Haulers in the hope that some understanding can be gained for all of those suffering. Christine looks forward to the day she can return to living; not just surviving.
