Help Christine's Cancer Recovery
Chris and Christine’s Journey
Cancer. It’s a small word that casts a huge, ominous shadow. No matter how often you hear the word, or confront it in friends or family; no amount of preparation
readies someone for the realities of cancer.
And now, our pastor's wife, Christine Miller, having comforted and supported
so many others in their battles with cancer, is confronting this fearsome adversary
herself.
It began with a deceptively small lump. Christine visited her doctor, endured
the long days of tests and scans with calm patience. So the bitter discovery of
breast cancer came as a shock. A double mastectomy was recommended.
And Christine’s fight and struggle with cancer began. But a fight with cancer is
always more than just physical. The real struggle is fear. Cancer wants to be a thief
and steal moments of joy and calm. For Christine, this has been a grace challenge,
as she has learned to hold tight to hope and grace even while battling. For there is
always grace. There is always room for Jesus and love. Jesus doesn’t fear cancer
and God’s grace is sufficient. Jesus’ presence is a constant reminder that whether
we are in the midst of dark days or mundane moments, Jesus is always there.
Thank you for walking this journey with Christine whether up close or from a
distance. Thank you for praying, for caring, for encouraging and supporting in so
many ways. Most of all, thank you for showing Christine in real ways that she is not
facing cancer alone.
Many have asked how they can provide practical help for Christine and Ps
Chris during this time. So as a church family, we have created this account to raise
money for a holiday for Pastor Chris and Christine.
Over the next few exhausting days, weeks and months ahead they will endure
countless doctor appointments, hospital stays and surgeries.
We hope that this gift, and the eager anticipation of a holiday break, will enable Christine to concentrate on battling this cancer and getting well. And we wanted to remind them both that Jesus is always there- that life is surprisingly beautiful, and God is forever good.
From the bottom of our heart we humbly ask that you share this with friends
and family and, if possible, in giving... any amount will help.
We thank you for your prayers and support.
