Help Christopher Eric Harp Get Home!

Donation protected
Hello, this GoFundMe is for Christopher Eric Harps Return

Eric‘s life has been changed in a way no young man just gaining their independence should have to imagine, let alone live.
On January 18, while walking to the store Eric was shot four times, in an unprovoked attack, leaving him instantly paralyzed from the waist down. Eric had 2 life saving surgeries that night, and 3 more surgeries in as many days. One of the bullets tore through Eric’s abdomen, causing the loss of one of his kidneys, damaging many of his internal organs and severing his spinal cord.

These extenuating circumstances have forced Eric and his family to relocate. Their current living conditions are a roadblock in bringing Eric home, as there is no wheelchair accessibility being on the top floor. Eric’s family has a limited amount of time to relocate before Eric is released. However, this is contingent on the required medical accommodations. Having medical necessities met is vital to Eric’s transition home, as well as the transition to his new life.

Eric needs full-time support and advocacy in his current state. Eric’s mother, the sole provider to Eric and his little sister is committed to her son’s recovery and well-being and will be providing that care, leaving behind 13 years of client relations as a small business owner.
Your donations will provide a means to maintain life’s basic necessities in this transition from their current state to conditions that support Erics needs and independence.
The family will be without income for approximately 3 to 6 months and all of your support will go to the necessities of living, the transition to a wheelchair accessible home, and with enough support a vehicle that will give Eric a familiar part of his life back, the ability to take care of his self, and have a piece of the independence back that he was just settled into.

After only a few months of working for Hand and Stone Eric is guaranteed a job when he is ready to return. The freedom and mobility a wheelchair accessible vehicle that Eric can operate independently will be instrumental in reintroducing him into a life more familiar. This vehicle will create a bridge to allow Eric to transport himself back and fourth through out the years of after care appointments required due to his extensive injuries. As well as support Eric in continuing his education in an environment conducive to his acceleration when he is ready.

Eric’s family is faced with expenses forced upon them in a very tragic and unexpected way followed by a sense of loss that only time may heal. The journey to recovery is just beginning with a long road ahead of them all. On behalf of Eric and his family we would like to thank everyone for every ounce of support given and ask that you continue to share Eric’s story as much as you like.
