Thank you for supporting Christopher Vargas overcome leiomyosarcoma and manage early onset Parkinsonism. Christopher has been a lifelong member of the Key West community, a 1998 graduate of Key West High School & long time head chef at Banana Cafe. As his next door neighbor of 5 years, I can personally attest to his above-average work ethic.

Since October of 2022, Christopher has undergone surgery, radiation, medications, lab work, CT/ PET scans, MRIs, chemotherapy, physical therapy, and excessive moving and travel costs to receive care. After repeatedly denying charity, Christopher has exhausted his very hard earned life savings. He needs our help!

Efforts to support our friend have come from far reaching places. Below are the heartfelt words of Christopher's childhood friend, Charles Holliday. It should be highlighted that Christopher's fight against leiomyosarcoma is complicated by the underlying diagnosis of early onset Parkinsonism. His doctor said this is like getting hit by lightning twice.

Hello, friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,

We are reaching out to you today on behalf of a truly remarkable individual, Christopher Vargas. Known for his boundless generosity, infectious laughter, and the ability to light up any room, Christopher has recently been faced with an unimaginable challenge: a diagnosis of monophasic synovial leiomyosarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer.
