Help Christy Reconnect with Her Colombian Roots

Hello! If you’ve made it this far, thank you for clicking on the link and being here! My name is Christy, and I was adopted from Colombia and raised in Idaho to a strong and active Mormon family. My parents were wonderful, and I love and appreciate them both more than words can say. They both have passed away, and it’s pretty much just my two kids and I with their dad helping here and there.

I tell you all of this just to give you some backstory on why I have created this GoFundMe account. Latin music has always hit a little bit different, and then Bad Bunny released his new album and it activated me. Lol. That’s a simple way to put it considering his music caused me to feel joy and connection in a way that I have never gotten to experience. His music without even knowing the lyrics, because I don’t speak Spanish, made me feel connected to a home I desire to know.

My intention for this fundraiser is to raise enough money for my children and I to be able to fly back to Colombia. To get to experience this thick Latina love that I felt through just a TikTok post. I can’t even imagine what it would be like to be immersed and surrounded by that, and I want my kids and I to get to experience that. To get to go to our homeland with our ancestors.

I want to go home.
