Help Christy recover and return home to her boys.

Christy's battle with autoimmune deficiency started shortly after the birth of her youngest child, Colton. For the past three years, she has been in and out of hospitals while her team of doctors ran many tests to figure out why she continued to get sick and was not getting better. While waiting for a prognosis she was hospitalized on different occasions with Hepatitis Mono, Coronavirus, RSV and Sepsis. The most critical of those hospitalizations was when she was admitted for RSV and contracted Sepsis as an inpatient. The Sepsis depleted her liver, gallbladder and kidney functions. With her organs in this state, and in a coma, the doctors gave her four days to live. Christy came out of her coma, but only to learn how dire her situation was. She needed a liver transplant, and she was told to immediately start the process to become an organ recipient.
On July 16, 2023, two days after her 42nd birthday, Christy received the gift of life from an incredible person who so generously donated their organs to save the lives of others. To this person and all organ donors and their families, Christy is eternally grateful.
Since 2020, Christy and her family have carried the financial burden associated with losing the ability to work and provide for her family along with mounting medical bills. While Christy applied for disability, she is still waiting to be approved. The road to recovery is long and hard, requiring Christy to live for many months within the Henry Ford Hospital Patient Housing with 24-hour care so she can be close to her transplant team and her many doctors' appointments as she recovers. This housing cost is not covered by her insurance and will be the sole responsibility of the family. This has contributed significantly to the financial strain of the family's already weak economic situation.
We appeal to all compassionate hearts to come forward and support this brave mother in her battle to return home to her boys healthy and able to finally enjoy being their mom! Your generous donations will help alleviate their financial worries, and help them heal and rebuild their lives. If you find yourselves unable to contribute financially, please consider giving the gift of life by becoming a blood, organ and tissue donor.
