Help Cindy Fight Like A Girl

Donation protected
Let's help Cindy continue to fight like a girl.

Imagine going in for your annual mammogram. I mean you go faithfully to get the mammogram done so maybe this time you will just put off the appointment.

You really are just not feeling it, but you decide to just go and get it over with. I mean it comes back normal every time so there is no reason to not just go and get it over with.

So, you decide to go in for your routine exam. You come back for the results to hear that you have a lump that is cancerous. Your ears begin to ring. I mean how is that possible? You go all the time. It never is anything. How can that be?

Your world is like a whirlwind after that. You go in to have the lump and lymph nodes removed. You are told its stage 1 and has a high cure rate. After more labs and testing, you find out that it is actually stage 2 and will require a more aggressive approach and more tests. Yet after more tests, you find out that your stage 2 cancer has a high reoccurrence rate and now requires a stronger approach to treatment which includes two rounds of two different chemo medicines and several weeks of radiation.

This is a true story for one woman and that woman is someone near and dear to us. Our stepmom, mom, grandmother, and friend.

Hey everyone. As you may know, Cindy was diagnosed with breast cancer and has started to undergo chemo treatments. She will have two different types of chemo  for several weeks and then radiation.

It will be a lot of trips to the center for her treatments. My dad will drive her, but due to the current pandemic, he cannot actually stay with her during treatments.

For the time, Cindy will have to go at it alone, sitting through hours of treatment, while my dad has to sit outside and wait.

Gone are the plans of packing up and traveling to see their granddaughters in Florida, gone are the plans of hiking and camping in the mountains, gone are the plans to travel to Cali, gone are the plans of traveling across the United States enjoying retirement and living the camp life.

Instead, it will be doctor appointments, cold rooms, blank walls, and the side effects of treatment.

We want to shine some light and joy on the situation. We want to bring some joy and happiness to an otherwise difficult situation.

We would love to come together as friends, family, and community to support Cindy and Kevin as they take this journey together.

For the past several years, Kevin and Cindy have worked hard to support the community. They work with organizations such as Red Cross to transport life saving blood specimens all over Missouri, Illinois, and Arkansas to help save the lives of others.

For the past several years, they have hosted The Rack Pack ride to raise money for different organizations in the community to support and give back to their fellow neighbors.

I think it is about time that we, as a community, show some love and support in return.

We ask that you help us raise the funds to help reduce the burden of cost for them to drive the hours to and from the hospital for Cindy to receive her treatments and to cover the numerous medical bills that have already started rolling in.

In addition to this Go Fund Me page, there are some other ways that you can support Kevin and Cindy during this difficult time.

How can your donation support Kevin and Cindy?

Your donation will help cover gas charges of driving the hour to and from the treatment centers.

Your donation will help cover the number of bills that have already started to accumulate and the bills that are still yet to come.

Your donation will help release some of the burden and stress that comes with these difficult times.

Your donation will allow Kevin and Cindy to know that we are here to help and support them during these difficult times.
